Carriacou, the largest of Grenada’s sister islands, offers a slower pace of life and an intimate window into traditional Caribbean culture. Known as the “Island of Reefs,” it is surrounded by vibrant coral systems that have long supported fishing and sailing traditions. The island’s small size and welcoming communities give it a friendly, village-like feel, where local festivals, boatbuilding, and music reflect a strong sense of heritage and pride.

Nature here is gentle and unspoiled. Rolling green hills, quiet beaches, and calm bays create a landscape perfect for hiking, swimming, and exploring by boat. Sandy Island, a tiny offshore cay, is a highlight: a strip of white sand edged by crystal-clear water that is ideal for snorkeling among tropical fish and turtles. Without the bustle of larger Caribbean destinations, Carriacou offers a chance to connect with the sea and the land at a more unhurried rhythm.
